“The Morden Tower Conjurations” has until now only been available as an unofficial release, mistakenly credited to Citipati. This is the first official release of this collection of tracks, culled from a session at Morden Tower in 1983.
These conjurations took place at Morden Tower in 1983 with a view to, perhaps, becoming the first Metgumbnerbone LP. Soon after, further summonings were undertaken in an abandoned railway tunnel. and the band thought they would make a better first album. Not long after that the celebrants enacted their duplicitous mummery once again within the ruins of industry which, of course, did become the first ‘bone LP “Ligeliahorn”. The tunnel summonings formed the backbone of “Druen”, and “The Morden Tower Conjurations” were all but forgotten about.
Now, let us journey forth in time some forty English years and we get to wondering about whatever happened to those early ‘bone recordings. An initial inspection of THE METGUMBNERVAULTS proved unfruitful. Richard Rupenus (The New Blockaders) had made the original recordings but, unfortunately, didn’t know what had become of them. However, he did remember that he had made a copy of said recordings at the time for someone who had been there.
After a long search for a story that is too long for a short press release but can be found online if you are curious, the entry has finally found its justifiable embodiment!
