No, your eyes do not deceive! this is the first new record from Zero Kama since 2008’S live album. During the intervening 16 years leading up to 2024 Zoe Dewitt was active with book publishing, Zero Kama and Korpses Katatonic reissues, lectures, scientific research, exhibitions, and rare but bright live shows. During this time many of us gave up our dream of seeing new releases from Zero Kama.
“What is a Body?” was composed as the 50-minute background soundtrack for Dewitt’s lecture performance in the anatomical theatre of the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna in 2015. Exclusively based on samples from “The Secret Eye of LAYLAH”, it takes you to the same Zero Kama you always knew: dark ritual music with transcendent drones and tribal beats. The music is not to be discussed and analysed, but to be heard as immersive experience.
Available on black vinyl, marble vinyl, and DigiCD. The vinyl comes with a big booklet about the record’s conception and the lecture by Zoe Dewitt.
